How It Works
Stop leaks in their tracks before they become something bigger. The Dome Leak Sensor is there to notify you when water is detected where it shouldn’t be, preventing damage to your home and keeping your loved ones safe.
Connect it to your Z-Wave gateway controller for instant alerts via your smart phone or computer. Monitor all the leaky nooks and crannies of your home — under sinks and plumbing fixtures, near water-using appliances, in your boiler room and beneath water pipes. Even use to the sensor to monitor water levels in your sump pump pit, preventing floods and water damage.
For advanced home automation solutions, connect the leak sensor with other Z-Wave safety devices. Trigger an as soon as water is detected in the basement to ensure a fast-acting response. Pair it with a Z-Wave to instantly shut off flow. With a compact size, extended signal range, and a long battery life up to 3 years, count on this Z-Wave leak sensor to better secure your smart home.
Installation
Before mounting your sensor, first connect it to your Z-Wave network. Put your Z-Wave gateway controller into inclusion mode. Bring the sensor within direct range of your controller. You’ll be able to move the device to your desired location after inclusion is complete. Remove the sensor’s cover by twisting it counter-clockwise and pulling to open. Remove the plastic battery tab to activate the battery. Press the Connect Button 3 times quickly. Once included, the LED indicator will flash 5 times and the new device will appear on your controller’s device list.
As long as the chosen location is within range of your gateway controller, you can mount your leak sensor with or without the included cradle.
To mount without the cradle, simply place the sensor flat on the desired surface, ensuring its three metal feet are all touching the surface evenly. This is a good mounting option if you’d like to monitor leaks under cabinets, behind toilets, and near appliances like washing machines and dishwashers.
To mount with the cradle, attach the sensor body to the cradle by snapping it into place. Make sure all three metal feet are directly inserted into the cradle’s metal contacts. The cradle can then be affixed to a wall using the included screw and wall anchor. This is a good mounting option for hard-to-reach areas like the boiler room and behind pipes in the basement. Plug the included remote sensor probe into the 3.5mm minijack for 4 feet of extended probing range. If using the probe, make sure its three metal feet are all in contact with the flat surface you’d like to monitor.
