HOW IT WORKS

The Ecolink Z-Wave Plus Tilt Sensor is not just a reliable security device, it’s peace of mind. Never leave your house again wondering if you’ve left the garage door open. This small sensor sits directly on your garage door and sends you helpful open/close alerts so that you never come home to a surprise. Just add the sensor to your Z-Wave hub for remote monitoring of your garage door via your smart phone, tablet, or computer. To make your set up more advanced, pair it with this to get easy remote control of your garage door.

This new and improved version features Z-Wave Plus, a step up from the older model. Z-Wave Plus translates to longer range (goodbye, garage connectivity issues!), way more bandwidth, and a longer-lasting battery life.

INSTALLATION

Before mounting the device, you’ll need to include it to your Z-Wave network. Put your Z-Wave hub into inclusion/pairing mode (refer to your hub’s manual for specific inclusion instructions, as each brand is different). Then, simply insert the battery and click the Learn Button to activate inclusion mode in the device. If inclusion was successful, the LED will turn off. If you see the LED flashing, inclusion was unsuccessful and you should repeat the steps above.

Verify that your desired installation location is within solid range of your Z-Wave hub; be sure to test the device from that location to establish good communication. You can mount the sensor using either the included screws and mounting bracket of the adhesive tape – determine which method is best for your garage door.

Make sure to position the sensor at the top section of your multi-panel garage door AND have the arrow on the left side of the device pointing UP – this is important for the device’s functionality. Before mounting, make sure the target surface is clean and dry. Whether you’re using screws or adhesive, follow the manual instructions exactly.
